How do we as Architects (Iggy Peck) & Engineers (Rosie Revere) create a found-object model of a Heidelberg house?
as inspiration for creating found-object sculptures of houses.
The Heidelberg Project is located in Detroit, Michigan USA.
After reading Iggy Peck, Architect & Rosie Revere, Engineer
students developed ideas for their own house sculpture.
We were lucky enough to have the author, Andrea Beaty come
talk with us about her books and these creative,
inquiring characters. Inspired by Iggy and Rosie
students began collecting materials to build their
sculptures. Cardboard, buttons, balloons, ribbon, fabric,
felt, discarded materials and much more were used in
new and inventive ways. You can currently see ISB's
Heidelberg Neighbourhood on display in the sunny hallway.
Or via our online gallery. To learn more about the Heidelberg Project visit their website: heidelbergorg.presencehost.net
